Southampton has recently made the decision to withdraw midfielder Tyler Dibling from full contact training. This move comes as discussions with Everton over a potential transfer continue to develop. Dibling, a 19-year-old England Under-21 international, has been the focus of three offers from Everton this summer, the latest being a substantial bid of £40m plus £5m in add-ons.

Despite these offers, Southampton has remained firm, rejecting all bids as they gear up for their Championship opener against Wrexham this Saturday. This follows their relegation from the Premier League last season. However, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing, and there is a growing optimism that a deal for Dibling could be finalized soon.

It is believed that Southampton's decision to pull Dibling from training is a precautionary measure to prevent any unforeseen injuries that could jeopardize the transfer. Dibling has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs following his performance last season, where he scored twice in 33 appearances. Notably, he also scored a double against Swansea City in an FA Cup third-round tie in January.

However, the departure of five experienced starters, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Ashley Young, has left gaps that need to be filled.
