How Miley Cyrus' 'The Climb' Became Inverness CT's Anthem for Success
Discover how Miley Cyrus' hit song 'The Climb' inspired Inverness CT's remarkable journey through financial struggles and their climb up the League One table.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle's journey through the past 10 months has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. Facing the threat of liquidation and potential relegation, the club has found an unlikely source of inspiration in Miley Cyrus' hit song The Climb.
Head coach Scott Kellacher revealed that the song, a pop-country power ballad about perseverance and never giving up, has become a pre-match ritual for the team. "I just listened to the words and how they sort of fitted in to what the club is all about, and what we are trying to do," Kellacher told BBC Scotland News. "I played it to the boys one day in the dressing room before a game and it went down really well."
The song, written for the 2009 film Hannah Montana: The Movie, resonated deeply with the players, symbolizing their own journey of overcoming adversity. "We're going to have upsets along the way, but we've got to keep going," Kellacher added.
Inverness CT's recent success is a testament to their resilience. After exiting administration and despite a five-point deduction, the club is now second in League One, just one point behind leaders Stenhousemuir. The team's fight for promotion to the Championship continues, fueled by the spirit of The Climb.
Kellacher, named August's League One Manager of the Month, believes the song has played a significant role in uniting the team and keeping their spirits high. "That's what we are trying to do - climb up the table, trying to get back to where we should be," he said.
As Inverness CT continues their journey, The Climb remains a powerful anthem of hope and determination, proving that sometimes, inspiration can come from the most unexpected places.
