Leicester Tigers Strengthen Coaching Team with Mike Forshaw and Anthony Allen

Leicester Tigers enhance their coaching staff with the addition of Mike Forshaw and Anthony Allen, bringing extensive experience to the team.

Leicester Tigers have made significant strides in bolstering their coaching staff by appointing Mike Forshaw as assistant coach alongside the return of Anthony Allen. This strategic move aims to strengthen the team's defensive strategies and overall performance in the upcoming rugby season.

Mike Forshaw's Rugby Legacy

Mike Forshaw, a seasoned rugby league international, brings a wealth of experience to the Tigers. Having played for England and Great Britain, Forshaw's career spans over a decade with Sale Sharks and 15 years in rugby union. His decorated career includes stints with renowned clubs such as Wigan Warriors, Wakefield Trinity, Leeds Rhinos, Bradford Bulls, and Warrington Wolves.

"I think the DNA of the club, around working hard for one another and being physical, really suits me," Forshaw stated on Leicester's official website. "It is an exciting time for the club, with Geoff taking over, and it is great to be able to be a part of that."

Anthony Allen's Return to Leicester

Anthony Allen, a former Leicester Tigers centre, rejoins the coaching team after a successful period away. Allen, who won two Premiership titles with Leicester and earned two England caps, was forced to retire in 2015 due to a knee injury. He has since gained valuable coaching experience with the club's academy, under-18 team, and a stint with Coventry in the Championship.

"It has been good for me to have been away, experience new environments and challenges at different organisations and be able to come back with those valuable lessons to add to the coaching room," Allen remarked.

Parling's Vision for the Tigers

Geoff Parling, the newly appointed head coach, has made Forshaw and Allen his first two coaching additions. Parling will continue to collaborate with Brett Deacon, Neil Fowkes, and Peter Hewat, who all worked under former head coach Michael Cheika. This cohesive coaching team is poised to lead Leicester Tigers to new heights in the rugby union arena.
