Rob Page Takes the Helm at Liverpool U21s: A New Era Begins

Former Wales manager Rob Page has been appointed as the new head coach of Liverpool U21s, bringing his extensive experience to Anfield.

Former Wales manager Rob Page has been appointed as Liverpool's new Under-21s head coach. The 50-year-old, who led Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years in 2022, brings a wealth of experience to Anfield. Page, a former Wales captain with 41 caps, has previously coached at Port Vale and Northampton Town, and impressed as Wales' U21s coach before taking over the senior national team.

Page's recent achievements include guiding Wales to the last 16 at Euro 2020 and qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. His work with pathway players has been particularly noteworthy, with numerous young talents making it into the senior squad under his guidance.

Liverpool academy director Alex Inglethorpe expressed his enthusiasm for Page's appointment, stating, "Rob brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to a key role as young players look to bridge that gap from academy prospect to first-team footballers."

Page now succeeds Barry Lewtas, who had a long and successful tenure at Liverpool U21s. The appointment marks a new chapter for Liverpool's youth development, with high hopes for the future under Page's leadership.
