Kilmarnock Bolsters Defense with Jamie Brandon Signing After Livingston Departure

Kilmarnock has signed Jamie Brandon on a two-year deal after his departure from Livingston, strengthening their defense for the upcoming Scottish Premiership season.

Kilmarnock has made a significant move in the transfer market by securing Jamie Brandon on a two-year contract. The versatile 27-year-old defender, who recently captained Livingston to promotion back to the Scottish Premiership, rejected a new contract with Livingston and chose Kilmarnock over several other clubs vying for his signature.

Brandon, who can play as a right-back, right wing, or central midfielder, spent three successful years with Livingston. During his tenure, he made 98 appearances, including 48 out of 50 matches last season, all of which were starts. His consistent performance and leadership were pivotal in Livingston's promotion campaign.

Stuart Kettlewell, Kilmarnock's new manager, expressed his delight at signing Brandon, highlighting his leadership qualities and understanding of Scottish football. "There have been a lot of clubs competing for his signature," Kettlewell said. "He's been a standout performer for Livingston and he adds to the leadership qualities that we already have in abundance here."

Brandon's career began at Heart of Midlothian, with a loan spell at Greenock Morton before joining Livingston. His versatility and experience make him a valuable addition to Kilmarnock's squad as they prepare for the challenges of the Scottish Premiership.

This signing comes just a day after Wigan Athletic announced the acquisition of departing Kilmarnock midfielder Fraser Murray, indicating a period of transition and strengthening for the club.
